Toddler Community (18 months - 3+ years)

The Toddler classroom ratios are 6 children to every 1 teacher. The classroom can hold up to 15 children.

The toddler curriculum follows the Montessori methodology. The toddler environment is designed with “invitations” that allow the child to be the initiator in directing his/her work, play and interactions. This child friendly environment is developmentally appropriate for each stage and rich in sensorial activities.

As a guide, the caregivers observe, analyze and prepare the learning environment based on characteristic needs of the 18 month – 3 + year children.

These needs include:

  1. Nurturing significant adults
  2. Space to move and explore freely within a safe environment
  3. Interesting things to observe and manipulate
  4. Freedom to choose and problem-solve
  5. People to relate to and talk with
  6. An innate drive to learn and experience through the use of his/her senses

The curriculum focuses on:

  1. Practical Life Activities
    • materials that aid independence
    • refinement of the hand
  2. Sensorial Awareness
  3. Vocabulary and language development
  4. Movement
